2018 Highlights from Rory Hoy

Thank you all so much to everybody who has supported me in 2018 - It’s been a fantastic year for me, and looking forward to 2019. Highlights include fulfilling lifelong ambitions such as driving a steam train, meeting my two favourite Doctor Who companions, Billie Piper and Pearl Mackie, playing to 10,000 happy punters at a festival, doing loads of fantastic gigs, having ‘The Other Side of Forever’ EP released on Big Fat Mama Beats and ‘Flamingo At The Disco’ single on Super Hi-Fi Recordings plus loads of remixes and collaborations - major highlights were getting my ‘Little Big Beat Book’ published by New Haven Publishing in September and reaching No.1 in the Amazon Dance Music Book Charts overtaking Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys and appearing again on the wonderful Craig Charles BBC6 Funk & Soul Show to promote the book and do a ‘Trunk Of Funk’ mix for the show! The absolute biggest highlight for me was meeting Sir Paul McCartney backstage before his incredible show in Glasgow this month. He’s always been a musical hero of mine, and for him to invite me to the soundcheck, show and to meet him was a real honour. Will be posting photos of us together in the new year. Let’s all make 2019 a good ‘un!
