The Big Beat Years - Episode 4

Here we are again for episode 4 of my weekly mixtape series ‘THE BIG BEAT YEARS’ (https://www.mixcloud.com/RoryHoy/the-big-beat-years-episode-4-1997/). 1997 was the year Big Beat was experiencing some HUGE mainstream interest, thanks to the ultra-sucesss of The Prodigy’s epic third studio album ‘The Fat Of The Land’. ’97 era Big Beat certainly got a bit harder and more “rock” orientated, as the second half of this mix most certainly proves thanks to artists like Hardknox, Definition Of Sound and Lunatic Calm. Also, watch out for a very controversial and very iconic Prodigy tune, as well as classics from The Chemical Brothers, DJ Shadow, Psychedeliasmith, The Wiseguys, Propellerheads, Freestylers and more!
